Gender equality for sustainable economic growth and political strengthening: Women constitute about half of the population and their participation will enhance a gender balance as well as building vibrant democracies and policies that benefit all. Gender diversity in public institutions is particularly crucial, given that these decision-making bodies create the rules that affect people’s rights, behaviors and life choices. Let's support women inclusion in governance. Life's most persistent and urgent question is "WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR OTHERS?''....your support is of importance. Creating a More Equitable Society: A Recap of the Gender Norms Activities Programme by HFDI in Ilorin

On the 19th of May 2023, our Non-Governmental Organization, HFDI, Kwara Chapter held an important event on Gender Norms Activities at Asunnara Street, Balogun Fulani, Ilorin South, Kwara State, as part of our ICHASSA-2 Project. This event was attended by both caregivers and children who were interested in learning about how each gender should be treated.

The activities kicked off at 3:30 p.m., and the first thing on the agenda was taking attendance. Throughout the event, our expert facilitators engaged with participants in a variety of activities designed to teach them about gender norms and how they should be understood and applied in daily life.

One of the key highlights of the programme was the interactive session where participants shared their experiences and perceptions of gender norms within their communities. This fostered a rich learning environment where everyone was able to deepen their understanding of different perspectives on gender norms.

Overall, the Gender Norms Activities event was a resounding success, providing attendees with valuable insights into how gender norms impact our daily lives and how we can work towards creating a more equitable society. We firmly believe that through continued engagement and education, we can create a world where everyone is treated fairly and equitably, regardless of their gender identity.
