We strongly enjoin the public to go and get their first and/or second dose of Covid-19 vaccine. It is safe for every eligible person. Gender equality for sustainable economic growth and political strengthening: Women constitute about half of the population and their participation will enhance a gender balance as well as building vibrant democracies and policies that benefit all. Gender diversity in public institutions is particularly crucial, given that these decision-making bodies create the rules that affect people’s rights, behaviors and life choices. Let's support women inclusion in governance. Life's most persistent and urgent question is "WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR OTHERS?''....your support is of importance. International Women's Day (IWD) 2022 comes up on 8th of March with the theme: Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow. #BreakTheBias

VULNERABLE WOMEN IN AKWA IBOM STATE RECEIVED FREE LANDS AND SEEDLINGS TO CULTIVATE AND PROVIDE FOOD FOR THEIR HOUSEHOLDS

“It has been so difficult for us to provide adequate food for our Children and households in the last few years”, said one of the Land beneficiaries, Madam Helen Uko in Ikot Ebo community, Etinan LGA. This is due to our inability to purchase, or rent a farm land for cultivation.

This has resulted to our children irregular school attendance, because of lack of food, occasional feeling sick and looking malnourished.

We are grateful to HFDI who came to our community and established a voice for us. (STAR).

HFDI built the capacity of the STAR circle on issues identification and resource mobilization to address any identified issues.

The STAR circle together with HFDI advocated to our village council on our behalf for a land, and today we have received huge plots of land free of charge to cultivate and provide food for our children and the entire households.

HFDI also assisted us with improved seedlings such as sweet Maize and cassava stem.

We are so happy for this recent development in our community, Courtesy of HFDI.
